Based on a newly available global survey of over 4,000 office workers across 10 countries – focusing on understanding employee work and life priorities in the post-pandemic world, JLL has identified that working in a hybrid mode is expected by 59% of office workers and 55% are already doing so today.
Hybrid has become a permanent element of the future of work, and a critical component of employee fulfillment and engagement with their employers. But employers are now expected to provide more than a fixed number of remote working days.
Quality of life and health and well-being have become the top priorities for office workers, above a good salary, and the search for a better quality of life is the number one reason people quit their job today. How can offices be redesigned to support these new expectations? How can employers create an enhanced and inclusive experience while people work remotely?
And what about productivity? If remote work is often perceived as a great opportunity to focus on tasks, our research shows that optimum performance cannot be restricted to intense heads-down work at home. Face-to-face interaction plays a crucial role – which remains the key reason for people to return to the office today.
