Dave Kurz, Researcher, DSCI discusses the DSCI New Talent Model, presents the challenges facing organizations, and how to build a ‘Job Brand’. Dave made these comments during the 7th CEO of the Digital Supply Chain Institute.
Employee development is almost universally recognized as a strategic tool for continued growth, productivity, and an organization’s ability to retain valued employees. When organizations neglect certain challenges, the employee development process is complicated for the organization, frustrating for employees, and uncertain. Today’s employers often need to develop their employees rather than bringing new employees into the market.
Successful employers integrate succession planning and development programs into the organization’s overall strategy and ensure that all programs focus on the same goals. While these guidelines do not guarantee a successful program, failure to adhere to them will certainly make the development program less effective for the employee and the organization.
